Tickle Me Elmo Toy
“T.M.X.” (Tickle Me Elmo) will tickle Britain's funny bone with three interactive tickle spots on his chin, tummy or toe. When kids tickle Elmo once on any of the tickle spots, he starts to laugh and slap his leg twice, then falls down into a sitting position and rocks himself back up to standing while laughing. When they tickle him a second time, he repeats the pattern even more, then sits down again and falls backwards onto his back and starts kicking his feet while laughing even harder. He then stands back up and asks to be tickled again. And on the third tickle he absolutely lets loose going through the first two patterns and then rolling over onto his tummy where he starts hitting the floor with his hand in gales of laughter, then rolling onto his back, standing up again, and ending with a deep sigh. Requires 6 "AA" batteries.
Everyone's favourite Sesame Street character, Elmo is ten years old and still a great friend for cuddling! Under his fur, Elmo's body bends and rolls into a ball during fits of laughter. Tickle his feet, stomach or chin and Elmo slaps his knee, doubles over, falls on his back and kicks his legs before breathlessly rising, begging for more. Again! Again! he says before standing back up.

Elmo laughing and rolling around
First there was Tickle Me Elmo then there was Tickle Me Elmo Surprise now, the furry red phenomenon returns like never before!
Surprise! It's the top secret tenth anniversary Elmo. What will he do?
The top secret edition is called TMX Elmo, with the X representing the number ten. Ten years ago, everyone's favorite Sesame Street character made history as one of the most sought-after toys of all time. The toy caused a frenzy, with anxious toy shoppers waiting for hours in long lines when they heard news of a new shipment. Since Tickle Me Elmo's 1996 introduction, he's done the Chicken Dance, the Hokey Pokey and his very own version of Y-M-C-A. What will Elmo do this year?
Elmo Specifications
- For Ages 18 months and up
- Product Dimensions: 5.5 x 1.5 x 15.0 inches
- Elmo requires 6 AA Batteries as well as 3 button cell batteries which are included with the Elmo Tickle Toy.
The Elmo box even includes a little flap which allows you to peek into the Elmo box, but as soon as you lift the flap, the little voice of Elmo says “uh,uh,uh, No Peeking!”
Tickle Me Elmo in the US
The new Elmo doll, announced at the American Toy Fair 2006, is called TMX (meaning Tickle Me (Elmo) Ten or Tickle Me Extreme). The full look of the doll was not revealed until it debuted live on ABC's Good Morning America and arrived on store shelves on September 19, 2006. Even the box it comes in is designed so that the doll can not be seen without purchasing it. A preview flap is included, but upon opening, you see Elmo's eyes. He says "Ah, ah, ah, ah! No peeking!" and giggles. It requires six AA batteries (which are included), and costs approximately $40USD. Toy experts say that the delay is unprecedented, with only a few people in the media allowed to preview the product, all signing confidentiality agreements. In a promotional clip, Jim Silver, co-publisher of Toy Wishes magazine says "The first reaction I had was, 'Where are the wires?' Because I didn't think anything like that could move on its own."
Toy analyst Chris Byrne told USA Today, "This is a quantum leap forward, another breakthrough in the preschool plush category." Byrne believes sales will be high, but the reaction won't be as unprecedented. "The culture has moved beyond that, the whole hot-toy phenomenon." He cites the fact there hasn't been such a craze since Furby in 1998. However, some members of the media are expecting a large response.

Toys R Us stores and Amazon had a pre-sale program for the doll, the first included elaborate in-store displays with a digital countdown to the doll's launch. Amazon took more presale orders than it could fulfill
As with the original Tickle Me Elmo doll, demand for the new toy has given rise to extreme acts by some people. One person in Tampa, Florida was allegedly threatened with a gun to hand over a TMX toy
